How Stortrijders was founded

I started Stortrijders during my student years. With a small trailer from a previous venture, I began collecting bulky waste. I noticed how many people struggled with disposing of large items and clutter — often it was just too little for a container or too big to take themselves. This quickly grew into a full-fledged business. After completing his Master’s degree, I decided to pursue this adventure full-time. A good partner was essential, and Wessel joined the team.

For many, going to the dump is an unpleasant task. We make it easy: clear agreements, fast service, and always leaving the space tidy. Today, we help customers across the North Brabant region with bulky waste collection and home clearance services.

The Team

Stortrijders works with a small and flexible team of hardworking people from the Eindhoven region. Depending on the assignment, different team members assist us with property clearances, bulky waste removal, and other tasks.

One of the people who works with us most often is Goof. He is 19 years old, lives in Eindhoven, and will soon start studying Real Estate Development in Nijmegen. Goof has already gained a lot of experience and often acts as a team leader on site during larger jobs.

Jules and Freek also regularly work with us.
Jules is 17 years old, lives in Eindhoven, and is currently studying VWO. Freek is also 17 and is studying Business & Entrepreneurship.

What they all have in common? A strong work ethic and a willingness to get their hands dirty.

And of course, we should not forget an essential member of the team: Kippie, the tipping trailer. Without him, the work would involve a lot more blood, sweat, and tears. Trust me — there was a time when we worked without Kippie… and we’d rather not go back to those days.

I’'m a hands-on go-getter with an eye for detail and a passion for clear agreements. I love keeping everything running smoothly but I'm also flexible when improvisation is needed. I’m a smart planner, always thinking one step ahead. Precision and thoroughness are my top priorities, and I take pride in showing that doing things well truly matters.
