Liability and Insurance
Stortrijders is insured for damage to buildings or property caused by our activities on site.
Because we handle small and occasional moves — and are not a traditional moving company with CMR coverage — we are not liable for damage to furniture or household contents during transport or the moving process.
Naturally, we handle your belongings with the greatest possible care. Our working method is careful and professional. However, moving always involves a certain level of risk.
For this reason, we ask you to sign a declaration of agreement before the move begins, confirming that you understand and accept these conditions.
This approach allows us to keep our prices significantly lower than those of traditional moving companies.
If you require full transport insurance or CMR coverage, we recommend using a specialized moving company.

Sustainable handling of furniture and belongings
We believe that not everything should be treated as waste. Many furniture items and usable belongings deserve a second life.
Whenever possible, we carefully select reusable items to prevent unnecessary disposal. Some furniture pieces are passed on free of charge to people with fewer financial means who can make good use of them. In this way, we aim to operate in a socially responsible manner while supporting our local community.
Reusing furniture also helps reduce environmental impact. By extending the life of usable items, significant emissions can be avoided — approximately 2–4 kg of CO₂ per kilogram of furniture or appliance that is reused instead of discarded.
